We are pleased to present our latest quality software direct to you. Each program has been engineered "in house" to our highest standards.

All our programs have no installation, are portable, self-contained and require no setup. There are no additional "dll libraries" required, no registry modifications, and no updating/alteration of your existing computer files, libraries or Windows' registry.

User Management

Our latest generation of software supports customisation of scrollbars, font, colors etc. And there are 45+ built-in color schemes, ranging from black to exotic color mixes. Or you may devise your own color scheme, save it to disk, share it on social media, or email it to friends etc. Our color schemes are plain text and totally safe.

We have new/updated software of - Cynthia (Midi Player), Dougi (JPEG Creator), Blend It (Website Tile Creator).

Code Foundation - Technological Background

Our latest software has been built on our Gossamer 4th generation code foundation - an ultra-lightweight, ultra-fast proprietary code base, engineered strictly 'in house' to rigorously high standards for maximum stability and reliability and across all flavors of Microsoft Windows and Wine.

Custom multi-mode controls perform multiple, simultaneous functions significantly reducing the quantity of code required to layout complex graphical user interfaces (GUIs). A lean graphics subsystem supports common 24bit/32bit graphic functions, close to eliminating the need for graphics card/system API calls.

Realtime decode-to-paint technology eliminates the need for image data buffering, rendering more images on a GUI in less time and zero additional memory consumption. With pixel level text rendering and multi-level anti-alias support plus smart image/text zoom on high resolution displays, interacting with our programs over multiple device types is a breeze!

Specially built common dialog windows for common tasks, such as saving a file, opening a file, choosing a color, etc, are no longer tied to the underlying operating system. Instead, utilising our specialised window management and rendering system, and full support for overlapping windows, curved corners (since 2006), drag-to-position, resize, click-to-focus, and integrated support for complex GUI layouts and rapid, partial paint events with no buffering requirement for perfect, flicker-free, consistent GUI rendering.

A 32-bit code base allows for broad execution scope, from the oldest 32-bit Windows 95 to the latest 64-bit flavour of Windows. It is even possible to run our programs on Linux via Wine. (Note: Wine requires an Intel x86 / AMD64 CPU to execute a Windows Desktop Program).

Our entire code foundation has been engineered exclusively 'in house' (no third party) to a stringently high standard of quality, to deliver the very best performance and reliability.

2005 / 2nd Generation

A step away from the standard operating system based GUI system. And our first attempt at managing the GUI workload and graphics subsystem ourselves, whilst remaining heavily reliant on the operating system for many of the window functions.

It was a success in terms of graphic freedom and power, but stability issuses and some graphical limitations required a rethink and a new version was soon planned.

2006 VUN / 3rd Generation

Our 3rd system yielded tremendous success. Not only did we achive GUI freedom, but also rock solid stability and massive performance increases. For the first time, we were free to use thousands of controls in a single program without performance loss, or operating system penalty. A fun fact, Windows 95 could only support a few hundred controls before crashing/losing stability.

So building a complex program up to this point had been challenging. But no longer. We also built our own graphics subsystem, for doing much of the work Windows 95/98 could not do. For instance, zooming image areas to very large zoom levels in real time with very little additional memory/processor overhead. Along with many enhancements, that allowed our software to perform with great stability whilst performing challenging tasks on limited hardware.

The new system proved so flexiable and scalable, that we managed to run our own search engine on a cluster of Windows 98 machines - it was called Rawgrunt. And yes, we managed every aspect of our search engine in realtime, via many GUI panels/controls.

2021 Gossamer / 4th Generation

Our lastest installment is lighter, more powerful, more stable, and almost completely automatic behind the scenes. Very fast application development can be achived, with the many common GUI controls/behaviours prebuilt right into the system.

A brand new graphics subsystem, allows for tremendous operating system independance. Taking complete charge of our windows, controls, and pretty much the entire management eco system. All from an extremely compact code base of ~100K lines.

The code base is natively portable, and handles it's own graphics, sound, file, dialog windows, GUI work, custom windowing, internal drag and drop, and much more, just to mention a few. And it still runs on Windows 95 and up.

Comparison Table

Here's a quick overview of the differences between the four generations of our code foundations / cores, which formed the basis of all our programs over the years.

Glancing at the table below, you'll probably notice quite quickly the significant improvements included in our latest release - our 4th generation code base. Unlike past foundations, we rewrote this core from the bare metal up. Including only what was required, and using various techniques to reduce the size of the code base. In some instances, we were able to drastically reduce the code required.

One way in which we were able to do this, was through the repurposing of some, core visual controls. By switching the internal mode of the control to a new state, it's behaviour could be changed, sometimes only slighty, whilst other times more significantly. Through this method, we were able to reduce the overal code required, often by as much as 90%. And less code, means less errors, and less time spent searching for them, and fixing them.
